BRI and Evangelism

When we commit to investing according to God’s principles we have a whole new forum/platform for evangelism. Because BRI is so different than the ways of the world, people will ask us why we invest this way. (It will provide us with opportunities “to give an account for the hope that is in [us].” -- 1 Peter 3:15, “always being ready to make a defense to everyone who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you.”) BRI also provides a springboard for speaking to clients about moral and spiritual issues. Likewise, if Christians work and pray together, BRI may, by God’s grace, be a means of influencing corporate behavior and society at large for good.


LOVE is an action word
Love for Christ and our fellow man should be the motivation for ALL we do! Jesus elevates Love above all other Virtues.  Mark 12:29-31:  Jesus answered, “The foremost is, ‘Hear, O Israel!  The Lord our God in one Lord; and you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind, and with all your strength. The second is this, ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
 

We are to have a special love for our fellow brothers & sisters in Christ; in fact, Jesus said that IF we love one another, the world will notice. John 13:35 “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another”. Our Love for one another validates the love of Christ (and the Gospel!) to a world that is watching how we live. Our love for Jesus and for each other, ought to so motivate non-believers that it would provoke them to jealousy of our walk with Christ and make them WANT to become part of the family of God!


In addition, as Believers, we should have love for those who don't yet know the Lord. There is a lost, dying and hurting world that desperately needs to know Jesus Christ, the love that Christ has for them, the love that constrained Jesus to go to the cross for them (as well as us!). We need to have this love even for those whose lifestyles we disagree with those whose lives are entrapped by sin and addictions. We need to show them the love of God; the same love that He showed us! As St. Augustine wrote, "hate the sin, but love the sinner". We can stand for Truth but do it in a loving way. Colossians 4:6 "Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt..." We are to stand for holiness and against evil while exemplifying the grace of God and the love of Christ!


We desire to be "Biblically Responsible". This means creating a balance between Truth and Grace, Holiness and Love. Our words and actions match our hearts. To make an IMPACT, we must do all things with excellence and integrity, but above all, with LOVE. Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.
